Description
A collection of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and newspaper clippings relating to the furnishing of the newly restored Assembly Rooms and Museum of Costume, the liquor licencing provisioning, and the letting of the building. Of interest are the reports on the missing Chippendale mirrors from the Assembly Rooms following the bomb damage and a copy of a letter from the M.P. John Parker criticsing the decoration and new bar in the restored Assembly Rooms. Originally part of the series of general filing relating to the work of the Spa Committee ( 'B' series), now catalogued as BC/13/1, but removed before transfer to the Record Office.
