Description
A collection of reports, correspondence, tender notices, and schedules relating to the furnishing of the restored Assembly Rooms. Items include correspondence relating to the borrowing of money to purchase furnishings and equipment, schedules of items required with costs, tenders for floor coverings. There are also several reports about the Chippendale mirrors which were believed to have been destroyed during the bombing, but appear to have been in the possession of R. P. Way, antique dealer in Gay Street, who claimed he purchased them from either a Corporation official or a National Trust official. Former ref: B.61/8.
