Personal papers, newspaper cuttings, photographs and memoirs of the life of Ronald (Ron) A. W. Perry.
Ronald (Ron) was born at 44 Rivers Street, Bath, on the 24 July 1918. He lived all his life in Bath and decided to record his reminiscences of growing up and living in city for his daughter Jean, focusing on the time period 1918-1947. He called the works 'The Way It Was' and this collection includes the memoirs in written and audio format.
'The Way It Was' covers his childhood, living at 16 Faifrield Avenue and attending Walcot School, his time as an apprentice and employee at Pierrepont Garage in Manvers Street and his time in the army in Britain and Germany during the Second World War.
The collection also includes family history documents, photocopies of Ron's birth certificate and newspaper cuttings promoting Ron's efforts to record his memoirs and announcing his death in Bath on the 18 September 2016.
