Description
The file contains: photocopies of five black and white family photographs including Ron's mother and father on their wedding day, which is accompanied by a list of names of the individuals who appear in the photograph (1911); a photocopy of Ron's birth certificate (24 July 1918); photocopy of a deed relating to Ron's change of surname from Worron to Perry (13 April 1947); a photocopy of a letter from Ann Steedman, Marketing Assistant of Bath Museums, to Ron Perry informing him that she will be transferring his tape and photographs to Bath Record Office (4 December 1995); a photocopy of Ron Perry's handwritten family tree, compiled in 2008; and a piece written by Ron entitled 'Just Reminiscing. Lost in the Mist of Time' describing life in 1930s, followed by handwritten pages on life in the 1920s.
It also includes the following newspaper cuttings: an account of Ron's memories of Christmas 1945 and New Year 1946 in the Star newspaper (15 July 1993); an article about Ron's quest to find a long lost friend (1 July 1994); an article about Ron writing his memoirs (31 July 1999); an account of his life on the 'Memories' page of The Bath Chronicle entitled 'No watches to tell the time' (10 November 2005); and the announcement of his death in The Bath Chronicle (3 November 2016).
There are also two black and white photographs, one showing the Bell at Walcot School and the other providing the view from the rear of the garden of 16 Fairfield Avenue (c.1920s).
