Extent: 1 vol and 1 bundle
Description
This register includes the following class of licences for which the Council had responsibility:

Class 3. Armorial bearings, dogs, carriage (horse or mule), hackney carriage, (horse or motor), male servants

The entries are arranged by address in alphabetical order and cover addresses for streets beginning with H to Y.

The volume also includes a small bundle of papers sent from various police forces to Bath City police, informing them of convictions for motoring offences of people who lived in Bath. The offences were committed in other parts of the country, and were for matters such as exceeding the 20mph speed limnit or driving an unregistered car. They were presumably passed to the Bath City clerk so that he could follow up cases of unregistered cars or unlicensed drivers.
