The collection includes invoices for household and business expenses; also printed book 'Our Own Country', published 1898. These items were found under the floorboards of a house in Bath (address unknown). They relate to John Werb, a baker, who was born in Coblenz, Germany about 1850. By 1871 he was in London, where he married Emily Garraway, originally from Bath. They were in Bath by 1875, when their first child was born. The family lived first at 7 Ladymead and subsequently 16 Walcot Buildings, Bath.
