Description
A meeting of the 'gentlemen and citizens' of Bath interested in the Volunteer movement was held on 15 April 1880 for the purpose of considering the financial position of the 1st Somerset Rifle Volunteer Corps. It was decided that extra funds should be raised to cover the debts left over from adopting new uniforms, to form a new camp for 400 men on Kingsdown during the first week in July, and to change the headquarters of the Corps. Over £200 was needed.
