Description
The Coventry Relief Fund was set up to help distressed weavers in Coventry after Cobden's Free-Trade Treaty with France in 1860 led to an increase in French imports in the silk trade and a shortage of work in Coventry. Although for a while it was rumoured that the fund had closed and thus the money raised appropriated to various local charities, in the end all money raised went to aid the original cause.

Bundle 1 contains letters concerning printing costs, apologies for non-attendance at meetings, notebooks of subscribers and loose lists of subscribers. Also included is a poster displaying the total raised (£400) how much went to Coventry (£100) and a list of which local causes were to benefit from the remaining £270.

Bundle 2 consists of subscription books from various local banks and libraries.
