A solar (attic) in the corner (cornario) over the shops in which Thomas Schakel lived, extending in length and breadth over the aforesaid shops, with free ingress and egress, for his life. Rendering to Richard 5s at four terms, and if John is sued by Richard or hindered in any manner, Richard binds himself in 40s as a subsidy to the Holy Land and in 5s annually to John de Dunsterre. John shall not let the said solar to anyone without consent.
