Description
These records include title deeds to property owned or administered by Bath City council, in some cases since the Middle Ages; they also include some title deeds (in series BC/6/2/1) which were deposited with the Council for safe-keeping. Over the years, the deeds have been reorganised numerous times, with the result that there are a number of separate, in some cases overlapping, series. Unfortunately, it is not possible to re-create their original order, so they have been left in these separate series. It may be necessary to look at more than one series for title deeds to a particular property.

The provisional arrangement of the records is as follows:
BC/6/2/1 Title deeds to properties in Bath. 'Ancient Deeds'. (Former reference BC151)
BC/6/2/2 Deed register: Furman's "Bath City Schedule or Repertory of Deeds etc 1776"
BC/6/2/3 Title Deeds to properties owned by Bath Corporation: 'Furman's Counterpart leases'. (Former reference BC152)
BC/6/2/4 'Furman's lease bundles'
BC/6/2/5 'Furman's building leases'
BC/6/2/6 'Furman's releases'
BC/6/2/7 'Furman's Sherston and Sachfield leases'
BC/6/2/8 'Bryant deeds'
BC/6/2/9 Title deeds in deed packets for the period before 1850 (Former reference BC153)
BC/6/2/10 Title deeds post-1850
BC/6/2/11 Title deeds - 'Avon deeds'
