Description
Letter to the Bath Corporation about a plot of land between the Cross Baths and the stables of the White Hart, Stall Street, together with a scaled plan. Lester was developing the land, having built the Eye Infirmary in 1811 and a messuage occupied by Mr Fuge. In the letter he refers to a third messuage fronting the Chequers Public House and a fourth plot which has not yet been developed, but was formerly a dwelling house occupied by Mr Snell. Lester is awaiting confirmation of his request to renew his lease once he has roofed in the houses. He also outlines his proposal to purchase a tenement above the plot, belonging to Mr Cottell, deceased, and held for the life of his daughter Mrs David and to use the land to increase the size of his fourth house. With a scaled plan showing the Eye Infirmary, plots occupied by Mr Fuge and Mr Bristow and the proposed fourth building.
