Description
The Fire Brigade Committee was a sub-commitee of the Surveying Committee until 1926, then a sub-committee of the Watch Committee until 1941. In 1941, during the Second World War, fire services were taken over by central government. They returned to local authority control in 1948, and the Fire Brigade Committe was once again a sub-committee of the Watch Committee. Although technically a sub-committee of two different committees, the minutes have been kept together as one series for the convenience of users.
