Material relating to Alice Park, Bath which comprises the following:

1. Alice Park, Bath (1938-1998) by Horatio Cleveland. Unpublished 1998 typescript by Horatio Cleveland of his memories of Herbert Montgomerie MacVicar who was responsible for the creation of Alice Park on the London Road in memory of his wife Frances Alice Harriet MacVicar known as Alice. Much of the material relates to the setting-up of the park and the Alice Park Boys' Club. Also includes photocopies of photographs that appeared in the Bath Chronicle relating to the MacVicar family, the Boys' Club and signifcant events that took place there including Opening Day.

2. Photocopy of the last Will and Testament of Herbert Montgomerie MacVicar dated 1957 detailing the provisions made for Alice Park

3. Great War hero of Alice Park - Col. W. B. Ritchie DSO, South Lancashire Regiment by Geoff Ward (a short history (typescript) dated 2000 of the life of Colonel William Buchanan Ritchie, brother of Alice MacVicar (wife of Herbert Montgomerie MacVicar) after whom Alice Park is named. Also contains a short history of the Park and an update on recent developments to improve it.

4. Colonel William Buchanan Ritchie DSO (Photocopy of short newspaper articles and photographs relating to Colonel William Buchannan Ritchie, brother of Alice MacVicar (wife of Herbert Montgomerie MacVicar), after whom Alice Park is named.)

5. Rev. J. D. MacVicar, rector 1871-1887 (Biographical notes on the Reverend Joseph Duncan MacVicar, father of Herbert Montgomerie MacVicar, founder of Alice Park. Concentrates on the period of time that Joseph was Rector of Rayleigh in Essex but contains biographical information on his family).

6. Trustees of the Charity relating to Alice Park (Photocopy of a legal document dated 1930s relating to Alice Park and the requirements of the Trustees of the charity set up to run it. On the reverse page is a plan of The Woodlands Estate out of which the Park was formed).

7. Willis/Havers family tree (Colour print-out of the family tree of Frances Alice Harriet (known as Alice) MacVicar nee Wallis, after whom Alice Park is named)
