Description: Bath City Council's 'response to the invitation by the Local Government Commission for submissions on the structure of local government in Avon, and on associated boundary and electoral issues.' (The Bath and Wansdyke area within the County of Avon became Bath & North-East Somerset in 1996 with its own unitary authority and this document put forward the case for that change in local government). This copy of the document belonged to Clive Abbott, Chief Executive of Bath City Council 1985-1995. There is a covering card handwritten by Mr Abbott attached to the front title page whcih relates to the dating of the document.
