A collection of material relating to Box Quarries/Box Stone Mines comprising the following :
1. Scripta Legenda: Box Quarries - Volume 1 edited by R. J. Tucker published by the Free Troglophile Association Press, 1974 (Nineteenth- and early twentieth- century inscriptions/graffiti recorded on the walls of Box stone quarries a few miles west of Bath compiled by Cotham SpelAutobiography/memoirs of Frank 'Tanky' Elms who was brought up in Corsham/Neston, Wilts. and spent most of his working life quarrying Bath Stone in the local stone mines/quarries around Box, Corsham and Pickwick. It gives detailed descriptions of the work carried out by the quarry workers and the instruments they used and contains photographs of the men at their work. aeological Society. A large number of these are the names and addresses of those who worked there as quarrymen including some who lived at Bath and Bristol. There is an alphabetical list at the back containing very short biographies of some of those quarrymen who left inscriptions. Also contains maps of the quarries/mines where the inscriptions are to be found).

Box stone mines by Cotham Caving Group dated c. 1960s (A history of the Box stone mines/quarries (from which Bath stone was quarried) from Saxon times to 1965 plus a detailed description of the worked passages, methods of stone-working used and a geological survey of the Box area. It also contains copies of photographs and a fold-up map of the stone mines/quarries at the back of the publication).
7. The stone production area (A photocopy of pages (maps and descriptions) from Chapter 6 in 'Bath freestone workings' by Liz Price (1984) relating to the stone mines/quarries at Box and Kingsdown. A copy of this publication can be found at PP/822
