Description
This file contains a description of the regimental flag of the 39th Medium Regiment Royal Artillery that hangs in the Church of St John the Baptist, Keynsham and a short history of Captain Brian Clifford Martin, R. A. (1923-1950) who served in the regiment. He was born in Glastonbury and later lived at Bath attending City of Bath Boys School but the regiment has no association with Keynsham or the surrounding area apart from the fact that Captain Martin's parents lived there for a short period. The file also contains a history of the 39th Medium Regiment, photocopies of Captain Martin's birth certificate and service record, photocopies of photographs of war memorials on which his name appears, his grave in Tripoli, the Martin family grave in Keynsham Cemetery and photocopies of correspondence collected while researching the background to the flag and Captain Martin's history.
