Description: Photocopy of a photograph of Mrs Bertha Anne Lock, Principal of Grosvenor College, Bath. Digital copy stored at S. Drive/Archives/Images/Mrs Locke. She was born Bertha Ann Bray in Coventry, Warwickshire in 1846 and had a career as schoolmistress before marrying Georg Thomas Lock at Coventry in 1882. He was the head teacher at Grosvenor College until his death in 1897 at the age of 44 whereupon Bertha continued to run the school. She died in 1915 aged 68. The Locks had one daughter, Margaret Bertha, born at Coventry in 1884
