Photocopy of the above letter found by Rosemary Dunwich ? while sorting her research material (see accompanying postcard to the letter). It describes Cowper's impressions of Bath since his arrival, notable visitors encountered, including the Duchess of Ancaster and her husband, Mr Douglas D.D. of Manchester, the Marquess of Tweeddale, Lords Coventry, Hobart and Effingham, Sir W. and Lady Yonge, General Churchill, Mr Winnington, the Bishop of Killaloe, Deacon Hughes, Dr Lavington, Lord Lichfield and Thomas Franklyn. It also contains interesting comments and observations on Beau Nash.
