Description: A two-volume PhD thesis presented to the Universite de la Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris III) on Local Government in Bath 1965-1981 written in French but with a transcript of Elizabeth I's 1590 charter (Appendix I) and a questionnaire given to the councillers (Appendix II) in English. Inside the front cover of volume I are two loose documents, one a covering letter from Jegou to the Mayor of Bath on handing over a copy of the thesis to Bath City Council and the other a postcard from Jegou to Robert Bryant, at that time the City Archivist.
