Description: Unpublished notes revised in 2009 relating a short account of the life and final hours of American singer Eddie Cochran who died at St. Martin's Hospital, Bath after sustaining severe head injuries when the taxi he was travelling in suffered a fatal collision with a lampost at Rowden Hill, Chippenham. Also contains an abridged version of PC RS McIntyre's official Wiltshire Constabulary report for the Official Coroner on 18th April 1960, photocopies of press reports of the accident and of the memorial stone dedicated to his memory which stands in the old chapel grounds at St. Martin's Hospital.
