Description: The 1937 Bath Act provided for the compilation of a list of 'Protected Buildings' - buildings erected before 1820 which were of historic or architectural interest and beauty. This box includes the final list, together with draft and annotated lists and a provisional list drawn up by the Bath Preservation Trust. It also includes papers relating to the listing of buildings of special historic or architectural interest under Section 30 of the the Town and Country Planning Act 1947 (which introduced listing of historic buildings nationally).
