Collection of letters addressed to Philip George Senior and Philip George Junior, the majority from solicitors. They relate to sub poenas; debtors; a suspected bigamous marriage between Charlotte Bird of Bath and a Mr. Harris; letters relating to unpaid rent owed to Mr Lamburt by Mrs Bayliss; several letters relating to Bath Turnpike bonds and a few letters from the politician Clement Tudway to George and letters concerning individuals who have made errors or tried to evade tax, including William Veal, collector of taxes for Corston, who was fined £100 for making charging errors.
