Correspondence relating to:
1. Duties as Town Clerk including leasing a corporation-owned house at 36 Milsom Street; a complaint from a Madame Catalan about the roughness of property tax collectors; and renewal of Bath Turnpike Act.
2. Private practice as a solicitor, including many requests from solicitors in London and other towns to search for or conduct legal business with people visiting Bath, mainly relating to cases of debt and conveyancing. Cases include Kingdon vs. Richardson; Brown vs. Forster; Cotton vs. Bennett; Thorp vs. Burton; Tart vs. Barber; Foster vs. Williams; Jacuad vs. French; Gardiner vs. Bailey; Gatliffe vs. Hathaway; Coppeck vs. Kennett; Blake vs. Forbes; Evans vs. Barber. A circular from a committee of Exeter barristers and attorneys seeking to regulate professional standards and practice, requesting information about legal practice in Bath, with responses.
