1. Duties as Town Clerk, including superintendency of Turnpikes; a request from His Majesty's Secretary of State for the number of insane persons in Bath's gaols and poor houses; a letter from a Bristol solicitor representing owners of mills on the River Avon requesting details of a 1724 agreement affecting their rights in connection with a new act going through Parliament; and printed bill for the auction of the Swan Inn in Wells (7th March 1807).

Private practice as a solicitor, including requests from London solicitors to conduct legal business with people visiting Bath, mainly regarding debt collection, serving papers and signing deeds; the auction of an estate at Dulcote; correspondence relating to a breach of the peace at The White Lion involving Pickering Lettsom (see BC/3/2/1/30/5); and the case of George Birch and his wife being tried in connection with using counterfeit coin in Bath
