Includes extracts from the marriage settlement between Mary Skurray and Samuel Day (May 1786); correspondence with Samuel Rodbard, Charles Crook and Rev W Batchelor, executors for Samuel Day's estate; letters from Mary Day; two copies of a draft Letter of Attorney appointing Philip George (senior and junior); letters from S. Macklin regarding the rental of Burnett House; correspondence relating to Thomas Skurray; and a Bond of Indemnity. Notes and jottings relating to the Day estate are found on the back of various letters and drafts relating to George's legal work. These include a draft from Philip George asking William Jessop (1745-1814), Engineer of Bristol floating harbour, to act as surveyor in a lawsuit between the Corporation and Lady Bath over springs supplying Bath with water; and a payment sheet recording vehicles passing through Kelston Turnpike Gate on Wednesday October 22nd, 1806.
