Description
Plan showing the corner of Beau Street and Hot Bath Street and with two 'swing bars' shown on the carriage way between the Baths and the Pump Room. Water grates are also included on the plan. According to the council minutes of 22nd March 1804, there was concern as to the condition of the carriage road on the west side of the Cross Bath over the Reservoir and Hot Springs as it was feared that the weight of the carriages would cause damage. It was suggested therefore that the carriageway should be paved for foot passengers only.
