Description
Letters from the Marquess of Lansdowne (1737-1805), addressed to John Morris (1735-1814), a Barrister on the western circuit whose clients included the First Marquess of Lansdowne. Morris stood for Bath in the 1790 general election but, having only secured a handful of votes, Lansdowne returned him to Parliament for Calne instead. Morris later retired to Bath.
Includes letters from the Marquess of Lansdowne, John Henry Petty, Earl Wycombe (1765-1809) son of the first Marquess of Lansdowne and one other, dated Calne, 1790.

Also includes letter from Lord Manvers, Thoresby Park, to Philip George concerning the effects on his property caused by a proposed railway bill. Dated Oct 9th 1840
