Description
The east face of Doric House viewed from Cavendish Road near to Cavendish Crescent. No 1 Sion Hill abuts the north face of Doric House (Joseph Michael Gandy, 1805, built for the artist, Thomas Barker.)The elevation to Cavendish Road consists of two storeys above a substantial plinth both recessed behind superimposed column screens.The ground floor facade is windowless and plain, except for a platband with four detached plain Doric columns. Above an attic storey has a superimposed colonnade of very short columns wiht windows in the central bays. Reverse: Pencil note '34.' B/W
