Description
A high level view from the corner of 1 Kingsmead Square with Upper Westgate Buildings on the right snaking up into Sawclose and its small car park in front of the Theatre Royal. The site below the retaining wall to St John's Place is used as a surface car park with a low stone wall boundary. Behind St John's Place rears the bulk of the Theatre Royal auditorium On the right hand side with its Dutch gables is Bluecoat House (W. Killigrew, 1772) . To the left is Upper Borough Walls turning into Barton Street with Broadleys' Vaults Public House on the corner. Reverse: Pencil note '11th Jan 71.' B/W
