A view of the west side of the recently- completed Southgate Shopping Centre (Owen Luder Partnership, 1969-72) A continuous canopy protects shoppers from the weather while the upper storage level is clad in Bath stone and the roof above is clad in copper sheet. The street has been pedestrianised and new tree planting, street lighting and public seating completes the improvements. B/W
