Description: A view of the South West Gas Board premises from the towpath just west of Midland Road looking downstream. A service pipebridge emerges from the gabled brick processing works to the opposite bank. A tall circular brick chimney rises from the buildings on the right.A rank of coal hoppers are seen on the left with other industrial buildings. Car parking, including caravans, occupies the land on the left bank. On the front of the photograph is a paper label noting: 'South West Gas Board premises represent a very large area of land allocated for industrial purposes which may be surplus to their requirements'. On the reverse: a note in pencil-'2' in a circle. B/W
