Description
A view of the Old Twerton sluice from the Weston Cut bank looking south and up river. The buildings beyond the stepped quay in the foreground are known as Weston Mills and the archway to the leat is seen to the left of the weir. The buildings on the south bank of the river front Lower Bristol Road. A female figure stands near to two tall trees on the grassy top of the quay while a second female sits on the top step down to river level. Two swans and three cygnets swim close to the quayside. On the reverse: a note in pencil- 'Old Twerton Sluice River Avon' and a photographers stamp in faint purple ink ' A.G.Bolwell, 8 George Street, Bath.' B/W
