Description
A photograph of an architectural model of the proposed Sports and Leisure Centre to be sited at the north end of the Recreation Ground, close by the end of Johnstone Street. The model is photographed from a viewpoint in Pulteney Road with the Empire Hotel in the distance on the left and the colonnade of Grand Parade below leading round to Pulteney Bridge and Argyle Street. The massing of the Sports and Leisure Centre can be clearly seen with its entrance both from the riverside terrace as well as the Recreation Ground itself. The main Sports Hall is nearest the camera and vehicular access would have been from William Street down ramps to the back of the Centre.Reverse: Note at bottom in red felt pen ' Sports Centre View from the East.'
