Description
A view of the east side of the Paragon( Nos 6-19) by Thomas Warr Atwood (1768 -85), as viewed from the pavement at the junction of Hay Hill with Vineyards. The concave form was not deliberately designed as a crescent, it merely follows the alignment of the Roman road. The composition was standard for Corporation property: 3 storeys, pediment over the middle first floor window and mansard roofs. Reverse: 2 stamps in blue ink. To the left: 'When in Britain visit Bath' and on the right;' Bath Spa Committee' above a dome logo with 'copyright photograph' beneath. Pencil note 'Paragon.' B/W
