Description
A photograph the shopfront of no. 17 Old Bond Street, on the west side, showing the premises of Madame Meyer, The Bernina Café: the four-panel entrance door, two upper panes carry the words 'Bernina' and 'Swiss Café'. A glazed fanlight over also carries the words 'Swiss Cafe' and a national flag. An illuminatedsign projects from the doorframe. The shopfront, of glass panels, is divided into four- each pane with a semi-circular head. A boy walks past the seemingly empty shop. On the reverse: the black rubber stamps of Gerrard, Taylor & Partners, architects; and '9 057' and a pencil note-'5'. B/W
