Description: Photograph shows a view of Charlton Buildings , no. 6 occupied by Stephen Henry Barter, Coal Merchant. The remainder of Charlton Buildings to the left of the four-storey terrace and fronting Lower Bristol Road, have been demolished. A label is stuck on the bottom of the photograph reading: ' Lower Bristol Road- Dwellings of architectural interest as yet unlisted situated in an area allocated for industrial purposes and affected by a proposed improvement line'. One the reverse: a pencil note- 10 in a circle. The four-storey terrace, nos 8, 7, and 6 Charlton Buildings have been Listed and restored. B/W
