Description
A view looking south west from Monmouth Street across the bombed out wasteland of Kingsmead Street and the buildings on either side. The blackened shell of Holy Trinity Church still stands on James Street West.Centrally the backs of houses on Charles Street show extensive bomb damage whilst the last two houses on Kingsmead Street with their junction with Charles Street are still standing and the exposed gable wall carries advertisements( Left:' Domestic Work'; on the right 'Frys Cocoa.') .Reverse: Photographer's stamp in purple ink ' A.G.
