The shops on the left belong to Collins, butchers at No 3 New Street West, at No 2 is the Kingsmead Hardware Arcade and at No 1 is Walshaw and Sons, dairy. Cars are parked on the left include a Lotus Elan, a Morris van and a Ford Anglia. The broad frontage of the County Wine Vaults with its hooded awnings deployed is central in the view below the spreading canopy of the plane tree.
