Description: Telephoto view from the footbridge over the canal from Sydney Buildings to the west bank of the canal looking due south towards Abbey View and the green space beside it. Top Lock is behind the camera and the first of the descending locks is central in this view. The canal itself is in a semi derelict state at this time and the foreground is filled with choking weed. 3 male pedestrians are walking up from the next lock down. On the right is projecting hanging sign advertising the "Canal Barter Shop". The houses in the midground are the north end of Horseshoe Walk. The grand house with the turret seen in the distance is No 1 The Tyning. B&W
