Description: Photograph of the canal looking south west from the road bridge connecting Abbey View to Pulteney Gardens towards Widcombe. The steeple of St .Matthew's Church is seen on the left with the wooded slope of Beechen Cliff on the right. Widcombe House, a Gothic Lock-keepers cottage, accessed from Pulteney Grove is seen on the canalside. The canal is choked with weed down to the next lock and pound. On the right there is a trailer belonging to the Kennet and Avon canal. On the reverse a note in pen: "12 July 71". B&W
