Description: Photograph of The Maltings, no 17-20 Sydney Buildings viewed from the canal. The Maltings consists of 2 buildings; on the left is the Malt House, a large rectangular building which carries the name of its owners, Hugh Baird and Sons, Maltsters on the canal facing gable. On the right is the Kiln building (for drying hops) with its tall weatherboarded vent and cowl. At this time, the building was in a semi-derelict state with some windows bricked up. On the reverse a note in pencil: "Jan 78". B&W
