Description
View west from the Pulteney Road bridge over the canal with the derelict canal in the foreground full of weeds and debris and displaying a very narrow channel. The lock in the foreground is Chapel Lock and beyond on the right is Thimble Mill, an old pumping station, in front of which is the Lower Lock. Beyond that is the stone-built bridge at the junction of the canal with the river Avon. the back of Bath Spa station forms the skyline broken by the signal box, erected in 1897 and taken out of use in 1968.
