Description
A photograph of the south façade of Cleveland House, bridging the canal (John Pinch the Elder, 1817-20), three storeys with round-headed windows at ground floor level, the tall first floor windows are six-over-six and the second floor windows compressed. Five bays wide but the exposed cast iron rainwater and waste pipework detracts. The bridge structure allows for the towpath to cross over. Below is a printed history entitled 'KENNET AND AVON CANAL' commencing in 1723 and recording events up to present day including financial details of its modern restoration. B&W
