Description
A view looking east from the junction of Charles Street and James Street West with Kingsmead House on the left: 7-storey concrete block, Local Government DHSS offices, designed in 1964-5 by W.S.Frost; now demolished and replaced by Apex Hotel. The front entrance is cordoned off from the street with building work carried out at ground leve.lBeyond is the gable end of the 5-storey block of Rosewell Court flats. Across the street from right to left is the edge of the Salvation Army premises and No 14 The Midland Hotel (now Bath Brew House). At No 12 Express Electrical Services and No 5-10 Kingsmead Motor Co Ltd,. have been demolished to make way for the Kingsmead Leisure Complex. In the distance is the modern block of the Bath Technical College. Reverse: Note in pencil ' James St West 1968.' B&W
