Description
View looking east from (probably) the junction of Avondale Road and Osborne Road over the former track of the Bath/Gloucester railway line. The backs of tall terraces on Newbridge Road are seen on the left and the centre of the view is occupied by the gas holders. To their right are the terraces of Station Road and Clarence Place, both of which run down to Locksbrook Road. On the right is a factory building on Locksbrook Road, now replaced by a residential development. In the centre of the photograph on the skyline are some of the early buildings of Bath University. On the bottom of the photo is an attached strip with a typed note: "DISUSED RAILWAY LAND WHICH CANNOT BE DEVELOPED UNTIL THE TRAFFIC PLAN PROPOSALS ARE RESOLVED". On the reverse a note in pencil: "Disused railway land which cannot be developed until the traffic plan proposals are resolved" and the letter "b". B&W
