Description
View looking west along the track of the former Bath-Gloucester railway with the surviving piers and balustrade of the railway bridge which crossed over Brassmill Lane. On the left is the beginnings of the Brassmill Trading Estate and one of the early buildings, a large 2-storey building built of reconstructed Bath stone occupied by the Horstman Gear Company Ltd. Beyond the building and over the river are the wooded slopes of Twerton Wood over the tunnel of the GWR line to Bristol. On the bottom of the photo are 2 attached strips with typed notes: "DISUSED BATH/GLOUCESTER RAILWAY - THE SITE OF A PROPOSED SECTION OF THE PRIMARY TRAFFIC NETWORK ILLUSTRATING HOW THE LEVEL PERMITS SEGREGATION FROM THE LOCAL NETWORK" and "BRASSMILL INDUSTRIAL ESTATE - A MODERN EXTENSION TO THE INDUSTRIAL AREA WITH ADEQUATE SERVICING AND CAR PARKING FACILITIES".
