Description: A progress photograph of the reconstruction of nos. 13/14 High Street, on the west side of the street. The large hoarding attached to the gable of the site office, on a cantilevered scaffolding over the pavement and street, advertises the 'Development by Bampton Holdings Limited' and includes various professional nameboards and the name of the main contractor- E. Mortimer & Son Ltd. A large extending boom mobile crane, on hire from Sparrows is about to lift a concrete hopper to a shuttered beam at third floor level. A group of operatives await the delivery. Outlines of the former building on this site are seen on the south gable of the Old Bank building, currently occupied by the National Provincial Bank.A mother pushes a pram across the street with her with two older children while a woman with a dog leaves the Christopher Hotel.
