Description
The east façade of Green Park Station, known as Queen Square Station until 1951 (built in 1869, closed as a station in 1966, designed by J H Saunders) as seen from the junction of Green Park Road and James Street West. The grand facade is of two-storeys with a balustraded parapet. End pavilions flank six Ionic columns off a rusticated base. A glazed cast-iron porte cochere adorns the station entrance. The area in front of the station is full of parked cars. A post on the left carries indicator signs to ' Assembly Rooms' and 'Roman Baths. Reverse: notes in brown felt pen 'Green park Station 1972' and '781/8.' B&W
