Shop premises read from the left: the Self-Service Laundry at no. 6, Jean Baxter fashions at no.5, Stanley Alder and Price, Estate Agents (in succession to Powell & Powell)at no. 4, Antone, Ladies hairdresser, at no. 3, and at no.2, the South of England Building Society. A cavalcade of interesting 1980s cars lines up at the traffic lights: MG sports, BMW coupe, VW Sirocco and a VW Golf. A contemporary design phone box is in use outside the Self-Service Laundry. B&W
