Description
View looking west from a point on North Road at the foot of the path down from Sham Castle directly towards the east end of Bath Abbey. In the foreground are the houses on the east side of Cleveland Walk. The centre of the view is of the backs of properties on Dunsford Place running down towards shops on St George's Place (all on Bathwick Hill) above which is the broad expanse of the Recreation Ground. Notable buildings on the level with the Abbey are the Empire Hotel and to the right St Michael's church and the (former) Hilton hotel, now Doubletree. To the left of the Abbey is St John's church and further to the left is the modern Stonefirms building. B&W
